Singer-actress Jayda Avanzado, daughter of Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, expressed her gratitude after people began pointing out her resemblance to Miss Universe Philippines Ahtisa Manalo.
“Oh wow! Thank you so much! It’s such a big compliment. Kung nakita niyo po, nag-post ako sa TikTok noong pagkananalo siya. Kami ng nanay ko, sobrang na-proud kami sa kanya. Beauty with brains,” Jayda said in a recent interview with The STAR on the sidelines of a recent event for the clothing brand Penshoppe.
Jayda also credited her mom, Jessa, as one of her style and fashion inspirations.
“Parang kapatid ko ‘yung nanay ko pagdating sa fashion (my mom and I are like sisters when it comes to fashion). She really influences my style. I always borrow clothes from her, especially those she wore in her younger years. She always encourages me to wear what looks good on my body. She’s all about empowering me,” she shared.
Describing her own fashion sense, Jayda said it’s “a balance of fierce and chill.” She cited American pop star Sabrina Carpenter and Filipina actress and fashion maven Heart Evangelista as her style icons.
Her advice to those still discovering their personal fashion identity?
The newly-signed Viva artist said, “Freely experiment. Whatever makes you feel comfortable and whatever makes you happy, go for it! Finding your own personal style is an evolutionary process.”
Meanwhile, Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix revealed that he occasionally seeks fashion advice from his girlfriend, singer-actress Ysabel Ortega.
“Minsan kay Ysabel talaga ako nagtatanong, ‘What do you think?’” he told The STAR at the same Penshoppe event.
Miguel added that getting compliments from his mother, Grace, also boosts his confidence. “Kunyari lalabas ako ng bahay, tapos binati ni mommy ‘yung fit ko, that gives me extra confidence,” he said.
The GMA heartthrob also opened up about his fashion preferences, influences and skin care routine. He described his style as sometimes laid-back, sometimes experimental, drawing inspiration from Hollywood star Timothée Chalamet and the outfits from the 1986 film “Top Gun.”
As for skincare, Miguel keeps it simple. “I just wash my face with soap. It works better for my skin type compared to using different products.”
His fashion advice? “Don’t be afraid. Keep on experimenting.”
