ROCHELLE PANGILINAN HOPES HER 'PULANG ARAW' CHARACTER ANNOYS AUDIENCES

Rochelle Pangilinan hopes her character in “Pulang Araw” will invoke a reaction among audiences.

The Kapuso actress and Sexbomb Girl plays Amalia Dimalanta-Torres, the aunt of Adelina (Barbie Forteza) and Eduardo (Alden Richards), who becomes their primary guardian.

In the first episode of “Pulang Araw,” Amalia already shows her strictness, intense voice, and fierce stare that would make Adelina and Eduardo follow her orders out of fear.

With this, Rochelle told viewers, “Sana ay nasundo ko ang inis n’yo.”

At the historical series’ grand media conference, Rochelle also said Amalia is among those “sa mga magpapahirap sa buhay ni Adelina, at ni Eduardo, at ni Teresita.”

“Sana mainis ko po kayo dito,” she said.

Pulang Araw” traces the intertwined lives of four childhood friends: Adelina (Barbie), Teresita (Sanya), Hiroshi (David), and Eduardo (Alden). As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, their dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.  

Dennis Trillo joins the cast as Japanese imperial army officer, Col. Yuta Saitoh, his first major kontrabida role.
