A POWERFUL MESSAGE FOR PRIDE MONTH: VICE GANDA AND ION PEREZ GIVE THE MIDDLE FINGER TO THEIR RELATIONSHIP’S BASHERS

The couple has this to say to those who relentlessly criticize their relationship.

Real-life couple, Vice Ganda and Ion Perez delivered a powerful and inspiring message to the world, and to the whole LGBTIA+ community, last night, June 2. This was during the former’s Memejesty VG concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

The crowd turned wild when Perez joined the “Unkabogable” Phenomenal Box Office Star on the stage. However, the entire arena became even more ecstatic when the two professed their love for each other.

“Whatever happens, whatever it takes…mahal kita” declared Vice Ganda, to which Perez replied with, “I love you”. The couple shared a kiss and raised their middle finger in the air, a symbolic gesture for their homophobic attackers. But more than that, it served as a testament to how unmoved they are by criticism of their relationship.

Vice Ganda and Perez have been together for four years. Last year, they announced they’d tie the knot in a wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, in October 2022. The couple has been the subject of online commentaries and backlash, with some criticizing Perez’s sincerity to the A-list comedian-host.

Vice Ganda has fended off several criticisms of their romance and defended Perez from many who questioned his true motives.

“Our love doesn’t have to be the same as yours. Every love is unique and special. Love is not supposed to be mediocre,” he said in one of his social media posts.

Vice Ganda and Perez are hosts of the long-running noontime show, ‘It’s Showtime’.
